Dealing With Outdoor Emergencies

This one day courses takes place on Dartmoor and looks at the management and treatment of casualties in remote locations.

Topics that are covered included:

Equipment

Calling for help and Emergency Signalling

Shelters and protection

Working out your location

Prolonged rescue - The need to source water and make fire

Primary Survey

CPR

Traumatic injuries including Catastrophic Bleed control

Medical Emergencies including hypothermia and heatstroke

This course is ideal for anyone who ventures out into remote locations and could find themselves faced with an emergency.

This course is not a regulated or certificated first aid qualification but all information is current and up to date in guidance with Resuscitation council UK, Royal College of Surgeons and JRCALC. The course is delivered by myself who has served in the Ambulance service for over 20 years, and I have a lot of real life experience in dealing with casualties in remote locations.
